Privacy notice
How website and business-enquiry information is handled.
Last updated: 9 September 2026
1. Controller and scope
Briar Hamsfest Consulting s.r.o., Wolkerova 607, 473 01 Nový Bor, Czech Republic, IČO 03486770, is responsible for its website operations and business enquiries. Contact info@briar.cz for privacy requests.
This notice concerns visitors and business contacts. Separate studies, source datasets, products and client processing need their own applicable notices and agreements. A synthetic-data description is not a guarantee that all source or project data falls outside data-protection law.
2. Information, purposes and legal bases
Website delivery and security. Your browser transmits technical information such as IP address, requested resource, time and browser information to the hosting infrastructure. Where retained for availability, error diagnosis or abuse prevention, the relevant basis may be our legitimate interest in a secure and reliable website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), subject to necessity and your rights.
Enquiries. We use the name, contact details, organisation and message you provide to answer and discuss services. Necessary steps requested by a prospective individual contracting party use Article 6(1)(b). Correspondence with someone representing an organisation generally uses our legitimate interest in managing business relationships under Article 6(1)(f).
Agreements and records. If an engagement follows, necessary administration for an individual contracting party uses Article 6(1)(b). Managing contacts who represent an organisation generally uses Article 6(1)(f). Statutory recordkeeping uses Article 6(1)(c), and necessary claim management may use Article 6(1)(f). Sending an enquiry is not consent to a newsletter.
3. Sources and your choice
Enquiry information normally comes directly from you; technical request information comes from your browser. If a colleague introduces you, we may receive basic business contact details from them. Where Article 14 applies, we provide the required information within the applicable time limit, generally no later than one month and earlier at first communication or disclosure where required.
You do not have to contact us to browse. Without a reply address or enough detail, we may be unable to answer an enquiry. Please send only information relevant to your question.
4. Website features and automated decisions
The website application has no contact form, account, checkout, analytics tracker or advertising pixel. Fonts, images, styles and scripts are served with the site. Language navigation uses separate pages. Copy controls write only the displayed company information to the clipboard after you click; they do not read your clipboard.
We do not use this website’s visitor or enquiry information for solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. See the cookie notice for application storage and hosting distinctions.
5. Recipients and international processing
Hosting, infrastructure, email and IT providers may handle information as needed to operate the website and respond to correspondence. Professional advisers and public authorities may receive information where necessary or legally required. Visitor and enquiry information is not offered for sale.
The private review version uses ChatGPT Sites. Platform sign-in and access controls are separate from the website application and are subject to the platform’s notices. A public deployment may use a different hosting arrangement.
Where our providers process personal data outside the EEA, the applicable GDPR transfer conditions must be satisfied, for example an adequacy decision or appropriate contractual safeguards. Contact us for information about the recipients and safeguards relevant to your information, and how to obtain a copy where applicable.
6. Retention
Enquiries are kept while the discussion remains active and as necessary for any resulting relationship. Further retention must have a specific purpose, such as applicable accounting and tax obligations or the establishment, exercise or defence of claims. Obsolete correspondence should not be retained merely because storage is available.
Technical-log retention depends on the hosting configuration and the period necessary for security and error investigation. Records linked to an active incident or claim may need to be held until it is resolved. You can ask us about the retention period or criteria that apply to your information.
7. Your rights
Depending on the legal conditions, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction or portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. If processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. We may request proportionate information to confirm identity.
We normally respond within one month. Where a permitted extension is needed, we explain it within that month. You can complain to the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (ÚOOÚ), Pplk. Sochora 27, 170 00 Praha 7, or another competent supervisory authority.
8. Sensitive information, children and updates
This website addresses professional and research audiences and does not invite children to submit personal data. Please agree a suitable channel before sending sensitive information. If information was sent in error, contact us so we can address it.
Changes in website features or processing may require an updated notice. The date above identifies this version.
